This application form is to be used for all requests for Cancer Navigators, Chemotherapy Nurses and Clinical Nurse Specialists. All courses must be relevant to the development journey of the individuals job role and will likely fall within cancer care. Other areas may be supported at the discretion of the Surrey and Sussex Cancer Alliance (SSCA) if there is an understanding of the contribution and development this will have on the individual/s.
ALL courses requested MUST start before 31 March 2026 in order to be approved in the financial year. Applications are encouraged as soon as possible.
The deadline for this application is 2 April 2025.
The funding is only to be used for courses, short courses and programmes. Study days and conferences will be rejected as unsuitable for NHS England funding. In this instance, funding should be sought from employer access to Continued Professional Development (CPD) budget available for staff.
Funding can be used for:
- course fees (postgraduate or development programme);
- travel, subsistence, and associated training costs;
- training grant to support the individual's development which could for example include provision for salary support and supervision/ mentorship;
- grants can be used to fund salary or backfill costs as part of facilitating the individual to attend the course (full details should be provided on the application form).
Further information: SSCA will use the information supplied in this survey to contact you to take part in post-programme evaluations to analyse the efficacy of and to quality assure the NHS England funded programmes. The evaluations are part of the Memorandum of Understanding between the SSCA and your organisation and must be undertaken. This post programme evaluations will only collect the IP (internet protocol) address from where it is completed. No other identifiable information will be collected in the evaluation itself and learners should not enter personal information into it.
