CIEH Policy and Campaigns Advisory Panel Application Form

Student Advisory Panel Coordinators
We are currently recruiting Student Advisory Panel Coordinators to sit on our Policy and Campaigning Advisory Panels. These positions are open to all CIEH Student members including those who are either studying at university or are on the chartered pathway. These are volunteer positions, working closely with us on policy, campaigns, and network events.

We are looking for Student Advisory Panel Coordinators for each of our six advisory panels, which mirror the core areas of environmental health:
  • Food
  • Housing
  • Environmental protection
  • Health and safety
  • Public health (newly established for 2024)
  • Port health (newly established for 2024)

Who are we after?

This volunteer role does not require you to be an expert; rather, it is a platform for you to grow, contribute, and collaborate with leading professionals in various Environmental Health specialties.

The purpose of our advisory panels is to provide advice and guidance, supporting CIEH's core purpose to promote all aspects of Environmental Health for public benefit, in line with our vision of a safer, cleaner, healthier environment for everyone.

Opportunities may also arise for you to represent CIEH in working groups or external meetings, contribute to Environmental Health News, write articles and blogs, and participate as a speaker or commentator in our webinars and conference events. This involvement aims to strengthen our network and disseminate good practice within the profession.

What is the time commitment?

The time commitment varies across panels, depending on ongoing campaigns, consultations, events, or requests from decision-makers. Active panels may have bi-weekly engagements, while others might have monthly or less frequent requests. We typically have 3-4 online panel meetings per year.

We understand you are either in full-time study or have careers and respect your time. While we hope for your active participation, we also appreciate any commitment you can make. Advisory Panel members can claim self-reported CPD for meeting attendance and project contributions.
