Why is this study being done?
This study is designed to explore the practice patterns used by Speech and Language Therapists (SLTs) in assessing and managing dysphagia in people with Atypical Parkinsonian Syndromes (APS). This study will also explore the perspectives of SLTs on their current practice patterns, skills and resources managing dysphagia in this population.

What does taking part involve?
If you decide to take part this will involve completing the survey once. This survey is composed of 26 questions and will ask about your experience and opinions on managing dysphagia in people with APS.
The estimated time to complete the survey is 10 minutes or less.

Why have I been invited to take part?
You have been invited to take part in this survey if you are a qualified SLT, a proficient English speaker and if you have experience working with dysphagia in people with APS (Multiple System Atrophy, Dementia with Lewy Bodies, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy and Corticobasal Degeneration) within the last 5 years.

What do I have to do? Can I withdraw?
You are being asked to take a survey. Your participation is completely voluntary. The survey will take 10 minutes to complete, depending on how much information you chose to give. Even if you agree to participate now, you can withdraw at any time without any consequences.

Are there any benefits or risks to me?
There are no benefits to you directly. However, this study aims to get a better understanding of SLT practice patterns managing dysphagia in people with APS, which will add to the research in this field. There should not be any risks associated with taking part in this survey.

Is this research approved?
This research has ethical approval from the School of Linguistic, Speech and Communication Sciences Research Ethics Committee, Trinity College Dublin, Ireland (TT63).

What will happen to my data?
No personal or identifying information will be requested from you, and we ask that you do not share any information that would identify you personally. Your IP address and location will not be tracked. Please note that after you have submitted your response, it will be impossible to withdraw your data, because there will be no way to identify which response is yours. Results of this project may be published in the future.
