The purpose of the East Suffolk Tree and Hedgerow Strategy is to direct East Suffolk Council’s actions to enable 250,000 new native trees to establish in our district over the next several years.

Together with delivering on this overarching commitment to quantity, the strategy includes a suite of project objectives that balance this with ensuring we enable the right trees, in the right place, for the right reasons. This approach will help to ensure the trees are established sustainably, and so are able to thrive for the enjoyment of our communities and wildlife, allowing them to enjoy as many of the benefits of greater local tree cover as possible.
