Dog Control Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) Consultation |
Have your say as we seek to renew our Dog Control PSPO
Public Spaces Protection Orders (PSPOs) are a legal way of controlling activities which cause concern in communities. They were introduced by the Antisocial Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014 and allow fixed penalty notices to be served when breached.
PSPOs are reviewed every three years to ensure they are effective and remain necessary.
In Blaby District the dog control PSPO encourages responsible ownership and covers:
- Dog fouling
- Dogs on leads
- Exclusion from play areas
This PSPO is due for review in November 2025. We are seeking comments on the order as part of this review to help shape any potential changes.
