Human Biomonitoring Programme for Ireland: Citizen Survey
The Human Biomonitoring for Ireland (HBM4IRE) project, funded by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), is currently underway at University College Dublin (UCD). Human biomonitoring measures chemicals/substances in human body fluids (e.g. urine, blood) to assess the population’s exposure levels. HBM4IRE project aims to evaluate the possibility of establishing a national human biomonitoring programme for Ireland. As part of this project, the research team is looking to get opinions on chemicals of concern.
Chemicals are a part of our daily lives; they are widely used in food production and consumer products. This is why human exposure is at the centre of this project. We would like to gain an understanding of the interests and concerns of Irish citizens. Our survey specifically targets people living in Ireland, as it will help us prioritize chemicals of concern relevant to Ireland’s unique needs. The chemicals that have been included in this survey are to cover a wide range of uses.
By answering the following questions, you will help us create this program to the needs of Irish citizens. The following questions have been adapted from the Human Biomonitoring for Europe (HBM4EU) program.
Thank you!
